The National Super Alliance (Nasa) has dismissed reports that it would name the coalition's presidential flag-bearer, today, Friday.

This follows a 'highly advertised' event at the Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi, which reports indicated would be used to announce the flag-bearer.

However ODM's Ruaraka MP Kajwang' said the event would not be the platform to name a flag-bearer, but rather meet Nasa members, as they welcome new co-principal, CCM party leader Isaac Ruto.

"The question of who becomes what in Nasa, has never been an issue, and as I tell you, it's just a matter of time. Today you'll hear, a very important announcement, but I think in two or other three days, all those questions that everybody has been asking, will be put to rest, because we will have a flag-bearer,'' Kajwang' said, Friday April 20, 2017.

From his statement, two or three days from today, Friday April 20, 2017, will possibly be either Sunday  23, or Monday 24, 2017.

Speaking at the same event, Nasa co-convener, Siaya senator James Orengo asked supporters and their Jubilee rivals, not to pressure the Nasa team with the flag-bearer issue, since it is a must, that a flag-bearer will be found, at the right time.

"It is a question that I think we should do it in our time, in our speed, and the pressure by Jubilee we are not going to agree, because for them it was given. They didn't have to go through a process,'' Orengo said.
