Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa's decision to cancel his flight to Nairobi saved him from a possibility of perishing in the ill-fated plane, it has now emerged.

Ten people among them two crew members died after Captain Barbara Kamau lost direction at the Aberdares leading to the deadly crash.

But adding to a source within parliament, Mr. Wamalwa, who also doubles as National Assembl Minority Whip, was scheduled to fly on the ill-fated plane.

"He had paid to the ticket to Nairobi and that was not the first time the MP has used the plane," said the source.

The source further said: "He cancelled the trip to Nairobi after the plane delayed from Homa Bay by around 20 minutes and he was impatient thus left."

The vocal MP has not spoken about the speculations but one of his Ford Kenya colleague, who spoke in confidence, confirmed that he has been using the plane.

Exclusive details indicates that the Wilson team delayed in handling over the plane to JKIA thus leading to confusions that resulted to the crash.
