Ipsos Synovate research report shows that President Uhuru Kenyatta is leading at 47% as Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga follows him closely with 42% in the race to State House.
The same opinion poll indicates that 71% of Kenyans believe that country is “headed in the wrong direction”, yet a good percentage wants Jubilee to retain power.
Ipsos Synovate research analyst Tom Wolf suggests that Energizing or captivating campaigns by the National Super Alliance (NASA) are likely to change the outcome of the forthcoming general polls. The former prime minister has to convince Kenyans that he will restore the lost glory of this nation.
The report indicates that Kenyans are losing trust in the leadership of this nation and they need someone who will speak a different message. Different political analysts have continued to express mixed reactions when it comes to polls. However, polls have almost reflected the outcome of the elections in this country in the past elections.
Both the opposition and ruling party are using statistics to counter each other as they seek power. In the last General elections, Raila and Uhuru followed each other closely and the outcome was not very different.
Neverthless, polls have continued to be challenged with the likes of Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka threatening to arrest pollsters if elected President.
