Leaders from northeastern have prevailed upon the youth to embrace teachings courses with a view to addressing the issue of teacher shortages in the region.
Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi stated he will unequivocally support the radical reforms in the education sector.MP for Lagdera , Mohamed Hire, while speaking on Saturday during the launch of Wajir East bursary fund that was attended by Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed , has cajoled the form four leavers who have attained grades for teaching to take up the course immediately in a bid to steer away the region from depending on tutors in other regions.
"Let us all change our minds about taking education courses for the sake of our region," Mr Hire said.
The appeal of the leaders comes at a time when the region is grappling with acute shortage of tutors following the exodus of nonlocals, citing insecurity and violations of their basic right by the locals.
