Reliable news sources in Kisii have revealed that the former Constitution Implementation Committee (CIC) chairperson Charles Nyachae will be launching his gubernatorial campaign on 14th April 2016 at Nyanturago ground.
It is alleged that Nyachae is working closely with the current Kisii county deputy governor to be the leading flag bearer following the retirement of Sam Ongeri from active politics
Nyachae has been spotted severally with the deputy governors Joash Maangi but the discussion of their meetings have not been disclosed.
Maangi has been accused of working with the Jubilee party following the visit to the Deputy president and also inviting the DP Ruto in Kisii several times.
Upon the launch of the campaign, the politics of Kisii county will change take a new twist, the incumbent Governor Ongwae will be under immense pressure to reclaim his seat following current rumours that Chris Obure has also shown an interest.
Amid the recent claims which have been linking Nyachae to the appointment of the chief justice position upon the retiring of Willy Mutunga, the claims of his advances toward the gubernatorial seat seem to change the face of politics in Kisii county.
