Opposition leader Raila Odinga will have a few options to choose from following a defeat to his archrival Uhuru Kenyatta in the recently concluded elections.

With Siaya Senator James Oreng’o having ruled out a possible Supreme Court battle, Odinga’s next options keeps his opponents guessing.

Already, chaoses have erupted in various suburbs of Nairobi and Kisumu following IEBC’s decision to confirm Kenyatta as the legitimate winner.

But failure to go to Supreme Court, Odinga is now likely to concede defeat and retire from active politics, a move that is likely to come in few weeks when Uhuru is sworn in.

In retirement, the former Prime Minister, who has international reputation, could be performing selected duties for United Nations and African Union given his legacy in the political arena.

About a decade ago, Odinga was chosen as one of the eminent persons to help reconcile warring parties in Ivory Coast, following a disputed outcome of an election.

It is still early to write him off though given that he may yet again consider moving to Supreme Court to contest the results.
