Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s political career will after all end should he lose Supreme Court petition.
For the next one week, lawyers allied to NASA and Jubilee are expected to take on one another as they try to defend their respective evidences.
And if Odinga loses, he is likely to retire from politics albeit his expected run off should the court nullify President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory.
“Technically speaking, I see him taking a break from politics should he lose this petition and that is a fact. He has however, played his role perfectly,” says Gideon Mamboleo.
“He will retire when ODM holds its elections in 2019 should the ruling go against him. If at all he goes for a runoff and win, then that should come in 2022,” he adds.
Having stayed in top league politics for over four decades, Odinga has served in several positions including Prime Minister.
The Orange Democratic Movement is expected to hold its grassroots and National elections in 2019 where tremendous changes will be done due to exit of Raila Odinga whether he wins or not in the Supreme Court.
