Perceived to be his last realistic chance to win Presidency, ODM leader Raila Odinga has launched a vicious campaign that can perhaps be likened with the one he conducted a decade ago.
The veteran leader is due to face President Uhuru Kenyatta in a rematch of 2013 elections in which he lost narrowly.
Having advocated to removal of IEBC commissioners and steering of elections reforms, Odinga has also ensured vote count will be determined at the constituency level following a court ruling.
But hitting to vote rich Rift Valley region has been his headache and at least he has managed to improve his rating according to analyst Dismass Makua.
“His strategy is simple; seal vote Rigging Avenue and split Rift Valley votes. His strategy seems to be working well and that is very dangerous to Jubilee,” he says.
Mokua adds: “He has also invested time in swing regions which seem to be favouring him like Kajiado and Narok but Rift valley is his main target.”
In his well structured campaign team, Odinga is working closely with Bomet governor Isaac Rutto who in working with MPs Johanna Ng’eno (Emurua Dikir) and Patrick Ntutu (Narok west).
