It has come to light that the Orange Democratic Movement did not sign the statement read out by Musalia Mudavadi today in Nairobi that postponed the swearing-in of Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to a date to be communicated later.
This is an indication that the decision to backpedal on swearing-in Odinga was not unanimous.
Insiders privy to the charged discussions prior to the announcement have intimated that Raila Odinga stood his ground that the swearing-in go on but other NASA leaders expressed serious reservations about the legality of the ceremony.
Other NASA leaders, except Raila Odinga, had not come out clearly on the vexed question of the legality of a swearing-in ceremony in the past in public rallies.
The perception out there has been a Raila inauguration was an ODM idea that did not enjoy the support of other NASA constituent parties.
Pundits had intimated that NASA would call-off the ceremony, a prophecy that appears to have come to pass.
