[Photo|Ali Hassan Joho]The IEBC has re-assured the nation that it is fully prepared to deliver a free, fair and credible election, Tuesday. This even as the Commission received a letter from the Orange Democratic (ODM) party, saying the Raila Odinga-led party will not deploy agents at the polling stations across the country.Party agents are usually crucial to helping in monitoring all the activities at polling stations, with respect to candidates from the respective parties.Instead, ODM told IEBC, that it will defer the responsibility to its candidates. "The Commission has approved this request and encourages other parties that wish to take this approach to urgently inform the Commission," said IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, Saturday. He emphasised that agents were very important in the assurance of free, fair and credible elections, and urged political parties and candidates to ensure their agents are adequately prepared for "this important task.""We urge those that have not submitted names to the respective returning officers at the county and the constituency level to do so expeditiously. There will be countrywide briefings for political party/candidate agents," he added.
