A post-mortem on Samantha Pendo has shown that the 6-month-old died from a severe head injury from being struck on the skull.
According to medical examiners at Aga Khan Hospital Samantha suffered a fracture on the right hand side of the head.
Medical Examiner Dixon Mchana disclosed the results of the post-mortem to the family after a two hour long examination.
"We confirm that the baby suffered severe head injury due to a bang on the head, and we have shared the results with the family," said Mchana as reported by The Standard.
Accordingto family representative Amos Pambo, they will be handing the results of the post-mortem to authorities so that investigations can be carried out and justice served.
"It was sad that a baby of this age had to die such a cruel death. We hope the authorities will get to the bottom of this matter, and bring those culpable to book as well as hand the family justice," said Pambo.
The late Samantha Pendo has received Sh118,000 from good samaritans to help pay the Sh365,000 hospital bill.
