Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has advised Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to consult former Prime Minister Raila Odinga over his 2022 presidential ambition.
Speaking during an interview with Viusasa on Tuesday, Muthama said the governor needs to talk to the opposition leader, who has contested for the presidential seat four times and lost.
“He should ask Raila who has vied since 1997. He should first consult and ask what does it take. During my period as the Machakos Senator, I spent my entire tenure trying to stop Mutua from destroying Machakos,” Muthama said.
Muthama said he is a performer, adding that he cannot work with Mutua because of his poor development track record.
The nullification of Mutua’s win in the 2017 General election has dealt his Presidential dream a major blow.
The county boss has to stand up and prove that he is the people’s choice.
Mutua has, however, said he will not relent in the fight against corruption no matter what befalls him.
His rival, former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has insisted that she won the August 8, 2017, general elections.
Ndeti has told the governor to square it out with him at the ballot instead of moving to the Supreme Court.
