Former West Mugirango MP James Gesami has revealed why he decided to join the Jubilee Party.
Gesami had vied as an independent candidate for the Nyamira gubernatorial seat after losing ODM nomination to incumbent John Nyagarama.
He said after losing the seat, opposition leader Raila Odinga did not make any efforts to approach him.
Gesami stated that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto instead approached him to support their re-elction.
"After I lost the governor's race, I took a break from politics to soul-search and consult widely. While I was at it, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto approached me to support them," he said.
"Since I lost in the acrimonious ODM nominations, NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga never looked for me. I have decided to join Jubilee and support Uhuru's bid."
He is to meet his supporters from the Bogichora clan Thursday to inform them of his latest decision.
