Despite having fallen out of favour, governor John Nyagarama on Friday received a suprise phone call from ODM leader Raila Odinga, an aide to the governor has revealed.
The second term ODM governor is currently undergoing treatment in the US and had handed over to his deputy Amos Nyaribo on Thursday albeit temporarily.
And according to the aide, Raila is said to have recommended to the governor to seek medical attention in the US.
"I can confirm that the two are in good terms. Raila even called the governor and asked him to seek medication in US. He wished him quick recovery," said the aide.
The aide further said: "Odinga also spoke on the handshake and even agreed to the proposal that he visits with President Uhuru Kenyatta soon to Nyamira."
When the country was undergoing political turmoil, Nyagarama opposed the party's radical approach to the crisis and even asked Raila to negotiate with Uhuru.
His statement is said to have provoked the ODM leader, who would later cut links with the governor on grounds that Nyagarama was disloyal.
