Maendeleo Chap Chap leader Alfred Mutua has revealed that he walked away from Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka because the political outfit had no agenda for the people of this nation.

Speaking after he was cleared to defend his seat in August, the county boss also said that the meetings of the political outfit were used a platform to fight him and other leaders elected on its ticket.

“I can say without fear of contradiction the meetings were usually used as forums to cut other leaders down to size,” Mutua said, as quoted.

The governor also said that the movement lost its focus thereby compelling him to take another step in his career. The governor added that he had to walk away before his political career became doomed. “That’s why I quit to form my party before I was fixed,” Mutua said.

The lawmaker, however, said that he enjoys a cordial relationship with Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, adding that they only differ when it comes to ideologies. Mutua, who is defending his seat in August, said that he respects Kalonzo because he is a decent man.

“I respect Kalonzo, he is a decent man. My differences with him are purely ideological,” he added.

Mutua, who has pledged to back President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s re-election, further said that Maendeleo Chap Chap is going to be one of the strongest parties in the region in the coming years.

“In coming years this party will be a force to reckon with. We will offer transformative leadership,” Mutua said.
