Kenya Premier League giants AFC Leopards parted ways with coach Robert Matano, months into the job.
The coach is said to have fallen out with the club officials after failed promises.
The club’s poor results at the start of the season are said to have contributed to his dismissal as well. According to a club official who spoke to Citizen, his relationship with players was among a host of other reasons why he was let go.
“He has been given a two-month notice of termination. It was served to him yesterday (Wednesday).
“It’s not a sacking letter but termination letter which has been processed in line with the contract agreement between the club and the coach.
“Discipline and his relationship with players are among the reasons that have led to his dismissal,” Lilumbi told Citizen Digital.
Matano’s assistant Dennis Kitambi has been in charge for the last three matches, which have all ended in wins. He will lead the team on an interim basis until Matano’s successor is appointed.
