With another presidential contest around the corner, the country is set to experience a high voter turnout due to the fact that only one position will be voted for.
Despite having six candidates to vote for on August 8, at least 79 percent of registered voters in the county managed to show up in polling stations.
And political analyst Dismas Mokua says voter turnout in respective stronghold of top contenders Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga would be high.
“The most undisputed fact is that in Central Kenya and Nyanza the turnout will be very high. They will be eager to make a point in ballot.
“But yet again, regions like Nairobi will see higher voter turnout because schools are open and Supreme Court showed that it can solve election disputes,” he says.
Also, swing regions like Narok, Kajiado, Samburu, Western Kenya and Coastal region are likely to register impressive figures according to him.
On August, thousands of Nairobi voters travelled upcountry due to tension and the Supreme Court ruling may influence many to remain within the city in October elections.
