Following enhanced operations against manufacture, distribution, and selling of illicit alcohol in Uasin Gishu County, individuals involved in the illegal business have devised new ways of avoiding the police.
It is now emerging that the unscrupulous business persons have resorted to using school children in the distribution of the illicit brews.
According to Uasin Gishu county Commissioner Abdi Hassan, the new method has been embraced by individuals operating from informal settlements in the outskirts of Eldoret town.
Addressing the press in Eldoret town after a meeting with top county security officers and those from NACADA, Hassan warned those involved that their days are numbered.
"People have devised new methods of transporting illegal alcohol and now some are packing inside school going children bags as this cannot be easily detected," Hassan revealed.
"...however our officers are now aware of this new trick and those involved should start packing and move out of this county because we shall deal with them accordingly," he added.
