Details have emerged regarding lawyer Miguna Miguna's last call on Wednesday before his deportation to Dubai.
A Kenya National Commission on Human Rights(KNCHR) official has revealed that Miguna made a frantic phone call just before he boarded an Emirates flight EK722 from JKIA.
Speaking during a joint media press conference between KNCHR, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and theMedia Council of Kenya, the official stated that the call was later interrupted.
"Before I entered the car Miguna called me and told me; They are killing me. Please come quickly and inform everyone," Kamanda Mucheke narrated.
He stated that efforts to call back were futile as his phone was switched off.
"I found Miguna in a toilet. Yes, it is a toilet and not a cell. The toilet has no shower and the sink has very hot water, so he could not shower in there," he stated.
KNCHR Chairperson Kagwiria Mbogori revealed that Miguna had already made up his mind before embarking the plane from Canada that he would not enter Kenya as a visitor.
Miguna is currently in Dubai where he is hospitalized after allegedly being assaulted.
