[Photo|Courtesy]It has been revealed that Cyrus Shakhalaga Khwa Jirongo, did not vote.The United Democratic Party (UDP) presidential candidate was among eight candidates gazetted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, to participate in the October 26, fresh presidential. By the of the exercise at 5 pm, Jirongo had not showed up to cast his ballot at the Lumakanda Township primary school in Lugari constituency, Kakamega county, where he is a registered voter.However, sources told a local online newspaper, that the former Lugari MP was committed in Nairobi, hence failure to show up.Several candidates like President Uhuru Kenyatta, and Abduba Dida publicly casted their ballot.In Lugari, sub-county Returning Officer Japheth Lagat said the voting exercise kicked off smoothly, in all 159 polling stations but recorded less than 10 per cent voter turnout.
