Kenya is in the top five of countries in Africa that continue to shoulder the heaviest burden of migrants according to a report made public by the International Organisation for Migration in Geneva.
The report revealed that Kenya is currently playing host to about one million migrants ranking at number five alongside her neighbour Ethiopia.
Kenya has continued to host migrants from countries such as South Sudan and Somalia, both ravaged by political instability.
The country decided to close the Dadaab refugee camp over security concerns.
Intelligence revealed that the camp was being used by Al Shabaab terrorist to plan attacks in the country.
It was closed in spite of the exhortation from the international community not to do so.
