Few hours after Kenya's oldest party Kanu declared its support for presidential Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election, reports now indicate the party's chairman Gideon Moi will be appointed in Cabinet, if Uhuru wins.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the president promised Moi top office in case his Jubilee administration beats Nasa, to retain power, for the second time.

This is believed to have been reached after Uhuru, his mother former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta, met Gideon's father, former president Daniel Arap Moi, at his home.

They are said to have had closed talks, for Gideon to be a high profile individual in Jubilee government, after the August 8, polls, according to the Star.

Kanu's support for Jubilee, dealt a blow to Nasa, which (Kanu's) secretary general Nick Salat had affirmed, enjoys its support.

During the announcement, Gideon said the party would field all political candidates in all elective seats nationwide, except for the president.
