He said it was time that Coast residents should have an umbrella political outfit that would help them advocate for their democratic rights such as implementation of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report.

Kingi made the remarks, citing the peace pact signed by political nemesis, ODM party (Nasa coalition) leader - former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Jubilee party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 9.

"As our national leaders advocate for national unity and forgiveness, let us also not forget where we come from as Coastal people. With one voice, we advocate for the implementation of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission of Kenya so we can fully address the historical injustices committed to the Coastal Mwananchi," he said.

Speaking during the burial ceremony of former Ganze MP, Joseph Kingi on Saturday, the ODM county boss indicated one political outfit would be the only thing that will unite the coastal people.

"Our prosperity as the Coastal people will come only if we, as coastal leaders together with our people, come under one umbrella and choose to work towards a common course; to develop our region and help the Coast region electorate prosper," said Kingi, who is contemplating in vying for presidency in 2022.
