On April 27, ODM party leader Raila Odinga was officially unveiled as NASA presidential candidate to face President Uhuru Kenyatta at a colorful event at the Uhuru Park.
However, political campaigns requires a massive financial war chest for one to earn the highest political office in Kenya, hence Odinga is in a race against to on board wealthy and influential business people to mount a formidable campaign aginst the Jubilee Party.
For instance in the run to the 2013 elections, Odinga had to hold a series of fundraisers to pull the required financial muscle for the presidency, do you remember the exclusive Sh1-million-a-plate dinner.

According to reports from sources within ODM, Odinga has grabbed the attention of two influential businessmen from Uhuru and DP Ruto strongholds who will chip in to bankroll his push for the presidency.
Among the affluent businessmen who will help in the mobilisation of campaign funds for Odinga is businessman Mr Jimmy Wanjigi and Mombasa based counterpart David Langa't.
It is interesting to note that Wanjigi was also part of the delegates who attended Raila's unveiling as NASA flag bearer at the Uhuru Park grounds.

The news that Langa't is also on the list of Odinga's financiers may not go down well with DP Ruto who was close to the businessman until the two fell out after the 2013 elections.
Langa't is heads DL Group of Companies and is a major businessman based at the Coast.
Will Odinga pull enough financial resources to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta?
