It has now emerged that Embakasi East MP Babu Owino dared police to arrest him, moments before being taken to Pangani Police Station.

Through his twitter account, Owino said that he had no problem being arrested since police cells were meant for human beings.

“If the police want to arrest me let them do it now.Cell is meant for human beings not animals,” tweeted Owino.

Owino whose official names are Paul Ogili was later arrested by detectives from the DCI where he was taken for questioning before being taken to Pangani Police Station.

He was arrested for allegedly making derogatory comments on President Uhuru Kenyatta during a campaign rally in Nairobi.

His sentiments were met with outrage from different leaders.

Owino is expected to be arraigned in court on Tuesday morning ahead of planned NASA protests to eject IEBC officials who allegedly bungled the August 8 polls.
