Deputy President William Ruto insists elections are not a matter of life and death adding that he will revert to research and farming should Jubilee lose.
Having risen systematically in political ranks, Ruto’s influence in national politics for the last decade cannot go unmentioned in years to come.
At Embu on Monday, a tough talking Ruto challenged opposition to participate in October elections, saying Jubilee will concede and move on.
“The problem we have created in this country is that without being in politics, you can be nothing. That is a wrong narrative peddled by our competitors,” he said.
The DP, who served as MP for 15 years added;”I will go back to Eldoret and do farming besides working on various researches in the academia.”
Despite his busy political schedule, Ruto is a PhD candidate in Biological Sciences from the University of Nairobi but he is yet to graduate.
In preparation for post Uhuru Kenyatta regime, Ruto has already started planning to run for presidency in 2022 elections.
