The County government of Kilifi is prioritizing projects and programmes that have direct impact on the lives of 'wananchi' in Kilifi County.
Governor Amason Kingi said they have placed emphasis on empowering small scale business people by changing their rural setting through infrastructure development: constructing modern markets, roads, bus parks and lighting streets.
Speaking when he inspected the ongoing construction of the Mtwapa modern market, Kingi said the completion of the market would enable thousands of traders and consumers benefit from increased businesses and a wide range of goods.
"It will also be equipped with modern facilities to ensure traders have a safe and clean environment to conduct their businesses," he noted on Wednesday.
He also inspected the construction of Mtwapa bus park, where he said it will also greatly help reduce traffic congestion in Mtwapa and open up the town to new investments and give residents real opportunities.
The governor said he was working to ensure his electorates are served equally and get value of the devolution system of governance.
