Wiper Democratic Movement Kalonzo Musyoka has disclosed what The National Super Alliance (Nasa) team lead by its presidential candidate Raila Odinga discussed with the African Union Commission chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat.
Speaking in Kitui, Thursday, during Nasa campaigns in the region, Kalonzo revealed that Mahamat commended Raila for championing for democracy.
According to Kalonzo, AU Commission boss acknowledged Raila for the great contributions he has made not only in Kenya but also for the whole continent.
The Nasa presidential running mate further noted the AU Commission boss wished the Opposition leader all the best in the presidency race come August 8.
“Raila you are well known. If there is any leader in Africa who has fought for the right of humanity and democracy, then it is you,” Mahamat said according to Kalonzo.
Kalonzo also criticised Jubilee for spending billions of shillings to have Kenya’s Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohammed elected at the helm of the AU Commission, but still lost to Mahamat.
“Despite Jubilee spending billions of shillings, Ksh 2 billion, Amina still failed to beat Mahamat,” said Kalonzo as quoted by a local daily.
Mahamat alongside other AUC members met with the Nasa team on Wednesday, July 19, in Nairobi. The team visited the country to check how Kenya is prepared for the August elections.
