Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga hosted Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko at his Capitol Hill offices on Friday.
The meeting took place at the request of the governor.
Governor Sonko congratulated Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta for agreeing to work together and unite the country following their handshake on March 9.
The Jubilee governor expressed support for the building bridges to a new Kenyan nation initiative.
Accompanied by Sonko, Odinga visited the residence of the former president Mwai Kibaki on the same day.
"The former president is upbeat and looked in good shape," said Sonko after the meeting.
Their talks centred on the current political affairs in the country.
Sonko disclosed that Kibaki was very happy with the political stand the former PM had taken and lauded him for the now popular handshake with Kenyatta.
The two-time former president associated himself with the handshake as a gesture of peace for the betterment of the country.
