Opposition leader Raila Odinga is set to make a major announcement on Tuesday, a week after the country went to elections which he lost according to IEBC records.
Although he was not pronounced the winner, Odinga is yet to concede defeat and has left his political competitors guessing about his next move.
Constitutionally, his Tuesday’s pronouncement could still be within limits of the constitution and could only embark on urging his supporters to maintain calm as he solves his issues in court.
Any presidential election loser is required to file a petition in Supreme Court within seven days of the determination by electoral body after which the court will have another seven days to reach a verdict.
Also, should Odinga not opt to use legal means to challenge the results, he may be forced to bow out of politics after close to four decades of success.
Already, a number of international observers led by Jimmy Carter Center, AU and Commonwealth have maintained that the elections were free, fair and credible contrary to opposition’s claims.
