The political truce between opposition leader Raila Odinga and Jubilee politicians continues to dominate headlines in the local dailies, a month after Raila met President Uhuru Kenyatta.
And on Friday, estranged Nairobi governor Mike Sonko held talks with Raila at Capitol Hill amid claims that the governor had 'lost' focus in his administration.
Interestingly, the meeting takes place minutes before Raila's planned handshake with his former political competitor Mwai Kibaki, with whom they shared power.
According to an aide at Capitol Hill, the Jubilee governor had secured an appointment with the former PM to 'congratulate' his move to work with President Kenyatta.
Further, the aide who spoke in confidence said, the governor asked Raila to rally ODM MCAs to work with his administration to foster growth in Nairobi.
Last week, a local daily exclusively reported intrigues within City Hall in which Sonko is said to be intimidating workers thus creating difficult working environment.
Before the famous handshake, Sonko was one of fiercest critics of Raila and often took him head-on in public functions.
