Whether he wins or not in a month’s time, President Uhuru Kenyatta says he will continue to support Maj Gen (Rtd) Joseph Nkaissery’s family.
The Interior Coordination Minister died at Karen Hospital a week ago and was laid to rest at his Bisil home in Kajiado on Saturday.
And in his tribute, Uhuru said he will ensure all schools and children whom Nkaissery was looking after are well taken care off.
“I know he was such a philanthropist and a loving father. I am told he used to help a number of schools, Churches and even children,” said an emotional president adding that the loss was massive.
He added: “Whether I win or not, I am going to ensure his priorities are well taken care off. That is the only way I can remember him as a friend.”
Earlier, Acting Interior Minister Fred Matiang’i revealed that Uhuru had ordered him to ensure he supports schools and children that Nkaissery was looking after.
His widow Helen had revealed that she was shocked to see even foreign nationals who claimed to have been direct beneficiaries of Nkaissery’s philanthropy.
