Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri confessed having an affair with the unknown married woman that he was filed naked with in Kakamega on Tuesday evening.
In the video which has since gone viral, Ndambiri, who is deputising controversial governor Ann Waiguru, is heard confessing in native Kikuyu language after rains of blows.
According to him, he had planned to visit the woman's parents for dowry talks adding that he was not aware if she was married.
"I want to tell the man that I am very sorry. I did not know she is married. I was even planning to meet her family," he argues in the clip.
For the better part of Wednesday, dignitaries attending Devolution Conference joked over the incident, with Raila Odinga leading the troop.
"It seems most of you are tired. This is maybe because Governor Oparanya told us that the county is a 24-hour economy. Some guests have however decided to save him electricity at night," he said.
So far, police say they have not received official report on the incident but investigations are underway to arrest the person who shot the video.
