At least 84 members of Kenyan delegation had attended National Prayers Breakfast in 1990 at US, a meeting that resulted to serious differences between Ouko and Moi.

In depth investigations done by Scotland Yard detectives who probed Ouko's February 1990 murder indicates that Moi was angry upon hearing that Ouko had secretly met President Bush.

"Since it was not considered an official visit, Moi was unable to get private audience with Bush. He literally wept after finding it difficult," said a witness.

Sensing danger after reports reached president Moi that he had met bush, a panicking Ouko hurriedly organised with US Secretary James Baker to allow Moi meet Bush.

"Bush finally accepted to meet Moi. The situation even worsened. Moi then took out his anger on Ouko claiming that he had organised to have him ridiculed," another witness said.

And two weeks after the January 1990 visit, a badly mutilated body of Ouko would be found near his Koru home in a murder that is yet to be resolved.

Investigations by former Kisumu Town East MP Gor Sunguh claimed that Ouko had been murdered at State House Nakuru following an order from the authority.
