At a rally dubbed 'Kebirigo Declaration' in 1990, four MPs from the greater Gusii region surpivised he 'burial' of former presidential candidate Simon Nyachae.
The four, David Onyancha, Zachary Onyonka, Chris Obure and Andrew Omanga had convened the huge rally to castigate Nyachae's 'secret' influence in local politics.
By then, notes Nyachieo Bogonko in his yet to be published King Makers, Nyachae had not joined active politics but the MPs had been tipped of a pending intention.
"The atmosphere was nice and the venue was full to capacity. The 4 Os had arrived and traditional prayers were performed.
"After that, Nyachae's effigy was buried as the MPs castigated him of alleged sabotage in the political arena," reads the book.
Besides preparing to join politics from civil service, the MPs also accused him of 'implanting' projects in all Gusii constituencies as he worked hard to overthrow them.
During the 1992 elections, Nyachae would easily win Nyaribari Chache seat and later on contest for presidency in 2002.
The octogenarian, who is currently in UK for treatment, bowed out of politics in 2007 after losing to little known Robert Monda.
