Sex to some is so much more than a vice, for some it is considered a need.
Whether we want to accept it or not sex influences many factors most importantly our social lives.
This begs the question as to why many adults still prefer not to engage in the act. Sex is everywhere, from billboards to social media, music, and television making it almost impossible to ignore.
Here are a few reasons as to why adults are not having sex:
First, adults with an active sex life have been known to have high self-esteem and report being happier all around. While those who do not have sex report having complicated relationships while also being stressed and anxious.
According to research females overall refrain from sex more than males.
Second, health issues are one of the biggest reasons men and women refrain from having sex. Physical and emotional discomfort has been closely linked to a non-active sex life due to factors such as depression, pain and addiction are said to reduce the libido in both men and women.
It is important for both men and women to have a happy yet healthy life if they intend to enjoy a happy yet healthy sex life.
Third, isolation plays a major role due to the fact that you are spending less and less time with others. ‘Anti-social’ behavior can force men and women to refrain from interacting with other individuals.
This can force men and women to turn to things such as pornography to compensate for their non-existent sex life. Pornography has been known negatively affect sexual performance.
Hope is not lost, however.
The remedy for this is could be very simple and at times it is over complicated more than it should be.
Discuss any sexual issues you may be having with your doctor.
Despite the cultural norms surrounding sex research shows that doctors are willing to consult clients on sexual health if asked.
The more you know the better and the happier you are the happier your sex life will be, right?
Well, the truth is a healthy life is heavily linked to a happier life.
