Considered as eye and ear of retired President Daniel Moi, Nicholas Biwott’s death could be a blow to fortunes of Moi family in coming years.

During his time in government, he executed duties on behalf of Moi and rarely could people separate the two.

And his death at 77 could affect Baringo Senator Gideon Moi’s quest for presidency in 2022 given his influence among the Keiyo people in North Rift.

The young Moi has hinted his intention to run for presidency and is expected to tussle with DP William Ruto who has expressed his intentions to run as well.

“Moi family needed him more than ever. He is influential in the Keiyo region and this could have tilted votes in favour of Moi,” says Gideon Mamboleo.

He adds: “His death will for sure change dynamics in Rift Valley. He was one of respected leaders in the Kalenjin community.”

Also, the former minister often quelled tension between the two leaders and sometimes this year, he advised them to bury their differences.
