Insulting, abusing and disrespecting deputy governor Amos Nyaribo were major reasons behind the decision by Nyamira County cabinet to dismiss Deputy Chief of Staff Kefa Mocheche.
Although cabinet source claims that he was suspended, Mocheche however maintains that Nyaribo acted out of law by sacking him.
"He was not sacked but was suspended for gross misconduct. He will appear before a disciplinary for clearance," said the cabinet source.
She added: "He abused the deputy governor using unprintable words and that was the reason behind the removal."
But in a text to the reporter, Mocheche dismissed the claims insisting that he was a victim of Nyaribo's witch hunt.
"They sacked me and I shall handle the matter. It will not just end like that. Someone must take responsibility," said Mocheche, a right hand man of Governor John Nyagarama.
The county boss is away in the US for medical checkup and has since left the deputy to execute some of his duties.
It is believed that Mocheche has been supporting embattled County Secretary Erick Onchana, who is unwanted by the DG.
