Deputy President William Ruto's absence on Friday during the naming of cabinet has raised major questions.

Many speculated that there might be tension between Ruto and his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.

However, Ruto's spokesman, Mr David Mugonyi has dismissed such allegations stating that the DP was not required to be present.

"The Constitution is very clear on who appoints the Cabinet. Who says so and so must be present for something to have concurrence?" Mr Mugonyi posed. It is on this premise that the second in command opted out of the unexpected announcement," Mugonyi revealed.

Among the people who have raised questions are analysts who state that things might not be rosy between the two."It could mean that the excitement is over or that the dalliance is dissipating. It could also mean nothing," Herman Manyora, a political analysts stated.
