Vihiga senator George Khaniri says periodical unnecessary attacks towards NASA leaders were the main reason why Majengo locals booed DP William Ruto on Thursday.
Rowdy youths believed to be supporters of Raila Odinga blocked Ruto’s convoy and forced him to suspend his planned address at Majengo market.
But Khaniri now wants the countries second in command to respect fellow leaders when campaigning across the country.
“The NASA family is largely peaceful unless provoked. Ruto has been throwing insults at us continuously. He should moderate his tone a bit.
“There is no point for someone to abuse other competitors and this is the habit we are discouraging in this country,” he says.
A replica of the scenario also caught Ruto in June when rowdy youths heckled him in Kisumu in front of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
