Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi believes the coastal county is solidly behind opposition leader Raila Odinga thus no need to spend time campaigning.
A ruling by majority Supreme Court judges nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory, throwing the country to yet another Odinga- Uhuru contest.
But despite ongoing plans to launch serious campaigns ahead of October 17th elections, Kingi says he will not be part of the plans.
“Kilifi voted for Raila Odinga and they will do that again. There is no need of going around to remind people of their constitutional right because they understand better.
“This is a Jubilee no go zone based on our voting trends. Odinga is a Bishop in this region and locals love him from the bottom of their hearts,” he said at a function in Malindi.
In the recently concluded elections, the county elected only ODM aspirants to various seats thus locking other parties completely out of the region.
Owing to the fact that Uhuru received over 75, 000 of votes, Kingi may be tasked to do more not only in the region but across coastal region.
