Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has raised political heat after he missed several functions in the county that were presided over by the Deputy President William Ruto.
Political fireworks started after Kinyanjui missed a public function by the DP in Gilgil, Nakuru Town West and Nakuru Town East.
MPs Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West) and his Nakuru Town East counterpart David Gikaria said they had invited Kinyanjui to the functions but he boycotted and there was no representative from the county government.
Nakuru leaders have used the development to start beating political drums.
They have accused the county boss of 'disrespecting' the DP and embarrassing the county.
A source close to the governor has however said that some Nakuru leaders had organised for the heckling of the county boss.
To avoid being embarrassed, Kinyanjui decided to boycott.
"“The governor had intelligence that some people had organised and paid some youth to heckle him during the tour because of his alleged poor development record. That is why Kinyanjui could not attend the events,” the source said.
