Difficulties in breathing, chest pains and general restlessness among other reasons compelled doctors in Nairobi Hospital to put Governor John Nyagarama's son, Ndemo Nyagarama under life support.
For months now, Ndemo has been in the hospital battling with Fungal Meningitis which a close family member says has put the family in panic.
"He could not breathe with easy and has been complaining of chest pains. The situation is not good at all.
"Doctors had no choice other than putting him on life support. His illness has really put the family in stress," said a the source, who declined to be named.
Last Friday, Nyagarama also jetted out of the country for speacialised treatment in the US and temporarily handed over to his deputy, Amos Nyaribo.
The ongoing challenges in the first family has literally thrown the county into politicking mood with succession politics dominating ahead of 2022 polls.
