ODM Deputy Leader Hassan Joho overlooked anti – IEBC protests for a strategic meeting with party luminaries, MP Abdulswamad Nassir has said.

Protests marred counties that are predominantly in opposition as supporters called for eviction of a number of IEBC officials alleged to have bungled August presidential elections.

Conspicuously, even with Mombasa taking part in protests, Joho, a staunch supporter of Odinga, was missing in action, leading to questions from a number of ODM supporters.

“It is quite interesting that the governor is not around bit we shall soldier on,” said Kevin Omondi, a resident of Nyali.

Athman Suleiman added: ‘Let us hope Joho is engaged in other serious activities like us here.”

But Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir said the governor was away for other parry functions, adding that he is expected to join end week.

“The governor is away for other official party matters and there is not need to panic. We are representing him and he has promised to be part of us end week,” he said.
