It has now been revealed that Kabogo's sentiments against DP Ruto's 2022 presidential are politically instigated.
Legislators from the central region allied to the Deputy president now allege that the Kiambu governor is fighting an inside battle within his county and his attacks on the DP was just but a projection of his political woes.
According to Tigania East legislator Mpuru Aburi, Kabogo is facing stiff competition from a section of Kiambu politicians led by Hon Ferdinand Waititu, who are apparently close to William Rutto.
He further noted that the embattled governor's personal grudge against Ruto is attributed to the proposal to have Kithure Kindiki crowned as the DP's running mate come 2022 presidential campaigns.
'Kabogo is fighting to have himself become Ruto's running mate. That is a done deal. We are behind Uhuru Kenyatta until 2022. After that we shall rally behind William Ruto and Kithure Kindiki, the Senate majority leader as his deputy," he said.
Aburi spoke on Thursday in Nairobi as he reacted to Kabogo's allegations that the GEMA communities would not readily support the DP.
However, Kabogo has remained adamant that he would never apologize for his defamatory statements even after threats to sanction him during the next party nomination exercise prior to the 2017 elections.
