Kenyan surgeons have railed against the state's plan to issue foreign surgeons with work permits and licenses, contending that the move will spell doom for the job prospects of local surgeons. The surgeons contend that the issuance of licenses to the foreign surgeons was wrong as it seemed to suggest that there are no qualified surgeons in Kenya. These concerns were raised by the Kenya Society of Plastic, Reconstructive Surgery, and Aesthetic Surgeons.According to the group, there are enough qualified doctors in the country to warrant such a move. They also asked the medical services board to reject the application of a German doctor called Tilman Stasch, saying that his application was not satisfactory.
