[Photo|the-star]Kisumu County Commissioner Maalim Mohammed found himself in trouble, during the swearing-in ceremony of Governor-elect Prof Anyang' Nyong'o.At the event held at the Kisumu Sports Ground, residents heckled Maalim, non-stop, as he tried to read a speech on behalf of Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri.They were lamenting that he allowed his police officers to allegedly brutally attack them, killing and injuring them, during the post-election unrest.Seven people died, four went missing during the unrest according to Kisumu Governor Nyong'o. He said some women were raped, and other residents lost property including money, to the police, as they allegedly    attacking innocent people in areas such as Nyalenda, Nyamasaria, Car Wash, Kiboswa among others.The residents demanded that Commissioner Maalim goes back to his seat, for failing to protect them from     alleged police brutality.It took Nyong'o's intervention to restore calm, at the event, Monday, that saw Senator-elect and County Woman Representative, Fred Outa and Rosa Buyu, respectively, attend.Nyong'o further called on Maalim to help in the investigations of the incidents, to bring all culpable police officers, to book.
