Photo/Nairobi News]Leaders in Nyeri County have given lawyer Apollo Mboya 24 hours to withdraw a petition he filed on Friday against Supreme Court judge Njoki Ndung'u.In the petition to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Mboya accused Justice Ndung'u of gross misconduct and misbehaviour basing his arguments on the full judgement the judge delivered on September 20.Speaking during a campaign rally to drum up support for President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection, the leaders led by Governor Wahome Gakuru threatened to have the petition by Nyeri MP Ngunjiri Wambugu against Chief Justice David Maraga reintroduced."It's very shameful for such a lawyer to file such a petition. He should withdraw it," Gakuru said.Kieni MP Kanini Kega said Mboya is presenting sideshows to divert attention from the presidential poll, which he said, the Opposition is afraid of."If the lawyer fails to withdraw his case, Ngunjiri will re-file his petition to remove Maraga from office," Kega said.Tetu legislator Gichuhi Mwangi said the petition against Ndung'u will go nowhere, saying it holds no water.“I have gone through the petition by Mboya and its content is based on flimsy grounds,” said Mwangi.The Nyeri Town MP withdrew his petition after President Kenyatta prevailed upon him to remove it.Ngunjiri questioned Maraga's suitability and also claimed gross abuse of office.
