The lawmaker stated that the government should consider allowing back vigilante groups because the initiative worked well in the area.

"Since Nyumba Kumi came into being there has been increased crime in North Mugirango. It means the same people serving as Nyumba Kumi officials are the same people committing crime at night," he said.

He said there is no good working relationship between the Nyumba Kumi officials with the local chiefs and local community.

Nyamoko stated that if the initiative will not be disbanded crime is likely to be at the peak in the region.

"Matiang'i should move with speed and disband the Nyumba Kumi initiative because I don't want my people to lose their property to clean criminals.

"Police officers serving in the area are also lazy and should be transferred from the area with immediate effect," he noted.

He challenged residents to speak out those criminals terrorizing them even if they are their own children.
