NASA’s threats to swear opposition leader Raila Odinga should Supreme Court clear President Uhuru Kenyatta will be illegal and unconstitutional, says Moseti Moseti.
At Jacaranda on Sunday, calls to swear Odinga dominated with leaders accusing Jubilee of bungling elections.
“If they dare swear Uhuru, we shall proceed with our plans to take Odinga to state house and that is not a threat,” said Gladys Wanga.
But due to strict laws and the constitution, Moseti said, the move will backfire since it will not be anchored in the law.
Further, Moseti says the move would dent Odinga’s international image and his stature as statesman given his long struggle for freedom.
“To be sworn, there must be a Supreme Court judge who should have received results from an electoral commission.
“Any move to swear him out of the law is unconstitutional and I don’t think he will be ready for the same. There is a working constitution in Kenya,” he said.
President Uhuru will know his fate once two petitions challenging his presidency at the Supreme Court, whose decision will be final.
